Shershaah has been jointly produced by Dharma
Productions and Kaash Entertainment, which is a binge-watch war drama being a
combination of patriotism, action, thrill, and love story. It is the story of a
Kargil warrior, Captain Vikram Batra (PVC). The film will be released on
Independence Day weekend, streaming on Amazon Prime Video from August 12 across
140 countries and territories.
This film features Sidharth Malhotra in the
lead role along with an astral cast of names like Kiara Advani, Shiv Pandit,
Raj Arjun, Pranay Pachauri, Himanshu Ashok Malhotra, Anil Charanjeet, Sahil
Vaid, Nikitin Dheer, Shataf Figar, and Pawan Chopra. Directed by Vishnu
Varadhana, Shershaah narrates the ultimate sacrifice of our soldiers who became
not just an inspiration but an icon for generations to come.
Staying
true to his codename “Shershaah”, Captain Batra gave all his blood and sweat in
chasing the enemy soldiers out of the Indian territory in one of the grittiest
mountain warfare missions which alms at the supremacy over Kargil War 1999.
Furthermore, Shershaah is Amazon Prime Video’s 37th direct-to-service film in a
short interval of 15 months, releasing ahead of Independence Day. Lead actor
Sidharth Malhotra to plays the role of Captain Vikram Batra (PVC) aka Shershaahis
gleeful about his role as a real-life hero.
Speaking
on the release of Shershaah, Malhotra said, “Playing a man in uniform always
induces a sense of pride but depicting a legendary warrior like Vikram Batra
was a huge responsibility to shoulder on and perform. The role called for a lot
of physical and even more mental preparation to get into his characters and
play the role.”
Actress
Kiara Advani, who has always been acclaimed for her charming presence will be
seen in the role of Dimple Cheema. She has been portrayed as a strong pillar of
support to Captain Vikram Batra. Speaking about her role in the film, Kiara
said, “I am honored to play a strong and inspiring woman like Dimple Cheema. It
made me understand the journey of the unsung heroes, like women behind the army
men. While we tribute the men at war, the sacrifices of the women at home often
go unnoticed. “Shershah” not only brings light to the contribution of these
support systems but also gave me an opportunity to pay my eulogy to their brave
choices.”
Talking
about songs of the film “Raataan Lambiyan” is getting hits day by day.
Shershaah is ready to rule everyone’s heart with some romantic tracks like
“Ranjha” and “RaatanLambiyaan”. The soulful melody sees actor Sidharth Malhotra
and Kiara Advani, as Captain Vikram Batra and Dimple Cheema respectively.
It
portrays that how difficult is to let go of the person you love the most. The
song is composed and sung by Jasleen Royal along with B Praak and the lyrics
are penned by Anvita Dutt.
